Holy Trinity College of Education, Melpalai, was established in 2007 by the KSM Educational and Charitable Trust with the aim of promoting excellence in Teacher Education. The college is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), accredited with a NAAC Grade B++, and affiliated with Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU), Chennai. The college offers a two-year, four-semester Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme designed to prepare competent, responsible, and professional teachers. The programme combines academic learning with practical training and provides students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on teaching experience. The B.Ed. programme comprises 100 credits and carries a total of 2,000 marks. Admission to the B.Ed. programme is based on the eligibility rules prescribed by TNTEU and the Government of Tamil Nadu. Candidates must have completed their education under the 10+2+3 pattern and must be at least 19 years of age. There is no upper age limit for admission. For general school subjects, candidates must possess a relevant undergraduate degree. For certain specialized subjects, such as Home Science, Commerce, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Logic, Indian Culture, and Philosophy, a relevant postgraduate degree is required. The minimum marks required for admissions are as follows: Open Competition (OC): 50%, Engineering/Technology Graduates: 55%, Backward Classes (BC/BCM): 45%, Most Backward Classes (MBC/DNC): 43%, Scheduled - Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar (SC/ST/SCA): 40% (pass minimum). Our college offers the following pedagogical subjects: Tamil, English, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physical Science, Biological Science, and Social Sciences (History, Commerce, and Economics).

M.Ed.

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) programme at Holy Trinity College of Education is a two-year, four-semester postgraduate programme affiliated with Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU). Candidates who have completed a B.Ed., B.A.B.Ed., or B.Sc.B.Ed. degree with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply. The required percentage may be relaxed for reserved-category candidates as per government regulations. The programme is offered in both English and Tamil. The M.Ed. programme carries a total of 2,000 marks, including 1,300 marks for theory and 700 marks for practical work. Students must have at least 85% attendance to be eligible to appear for the examinations. A minimum of 50% marks is required to pass each component of the programme. As part of the degree requirements, students must complete a research dissertation and appear for a viva-voce examination. Students must also successfully complete two SWAYAM courses or the alternative papers prescribed by the university, as applicable.
