HISTORY OF OUR COLLEGE
Holy Trinity College of Education was established in the year 2007 as a Secondary Teacher Education Institution (B. Ed.) at Melpalai in Kanyakumari District. It is owned and run by the KSM Educational and Charitable Trust.
Holy Trinity College of Education got its recognition from NCTE, Southern Regional Committee, Bangalore in the month of June 2007 and it was affiliated to the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli in the month of November 2007. Assembly and Thought for the day
The Assembly and thought for the day is conducted regularly between 9.30 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. This programme is guided by the Principal of our college, The main intention is to develop leadership qualities in the students. This programme provides opportunities to all students to speak in turn on various topics related to education, value systems and current issues.
College Council
The College Council is formed by all the faculty members including Physical Director and Librarian. Principal is the President of the Council. The secretary is elected by the members of the council and the council meets periodically to discuss academic matters of the college.
Remedial Coaching
The teaching ability of the B.Ed students are encouraged through micro teaching, real teaching in school and criticism classes. In order to help those students who are weak in studies, the college also offers remedial teaching. The concerned subject faculty works very hard on this programme.
Medical Inspection
Every student of this college will have to undergo a medical inspection arranged by the college.
Special Assistance
The Principal, the Staff and the students voluntarily provide special assistance for the needy in times of natural calamities and other distresses.
Club Activities
The club activities are to bring unity, co-operation, organizing ability, care, love towards other students and nature. Clubs serve as excellent platforms. The activities of the Club will be decided by its members with the help of the lecturer
College Magazine
This will be published once in a year. One Staff is nominated by the principal from the faculty members to serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine. The staff is assisted by the elected representatives. The Editorial Board is solely responsible for editing and publishing of articles in the magazine.
Guidance and Placement Cell
This cell is working under the able guidance of our Principal. Students are ably guided to solve their personal and educational problems. Almost all the hundred are provided jobs in schools through the placement cells.
Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)
In order to get to know each other and to keep the parents informed about their ward’s progress, regular meetings are arranged on periodical basis.
The College Association
The College Association is formed every year. A Chair person, Secretary, Treasurer and other class representatives are elected from the students under the guidance of the Principal and faculty. They organize meetings and cultural programmes.
Alumni Association
The college started the Alumni Association in the academic year 2008-09 with a view to give opportunity for its old students to have nostalgia of the memorable and valuable days they have spent in the campus and make their own contributions to the developmental activities to their Almni Master. Dr. Jeena is the co-ordinator.
LIBRARY WORK AND RULES
Students are expected to make the best use of the College library. Students are required to be in the library during the library hours and whenever they have no classes.
- All students and members of the teaching and non-teaching staff are members of the library.
- The library will be kept open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on all working days.
- Strict silence is to be observed within the library.
- No student shall write upon, damage or make any mark upon a journal or book belonging to the library.
- Borrowers on receiving books are expected to examine them before they leave the library and report the librarian immediately.
- Books borrowed at the commencement of a vocation exceeding 7 days should be returned on the day immediately after the vacation.
